Dr. Toa Charm was the speaker in the first Open Day of HKU Space in Chengdu, Sichuan. It launched the latest management concepts and use the construction of thinking to deal with the challenges and changes of “Internet+” in the fast times. Dr. Charm shared his valuable opinions on “When Strategy Meets Internet+”

今天,移动互联网正铺天盖地颠覆我们的生活,成为生活逃脱不开的场域。对消费者而言一切都变得更透明、便宜、快捷,并开始掌控更多主动权。

但企业的境遇却大不相同, 有的搭上了互联网产业的大船, 抓住机会转型, 有的却夜夜做着被新生对手颠覆的噩梦。

作为一个经营者, 在开始怀疑互联网时代品牌还能有多少忠诚度的今天, 互联网思维是拯救传统产业的利器吗?互联网化或是利用社会化营销能为商业战争带来多少胜算?

当“战略”遇上“互联网+”,我们到底是颠覆还是认怂?

On December 1st,2015, Globalization Senior Executives Salaon kicked off in Hangzhou. Dr. Toa Charm participated in it and shared his valuable experience with Chinese business elites on the topic of “Strategic Thinking: the Secret Recipe of Grasping Global Business Opportunities”.

与时俱进方能在新的全球化环境中运筹帷幄。为了在国际经济全球化大气候下拓宽中国企业视野,香港大学SPACE中国商业学院特别举办“2015年度全球化高管系列沙龙”,为期一个月的系列沙龙活动将分别于杭州、广州、北京、深圳、上海五地开展密集的讲座活动,特邀多位曾服务于IBM、汇丰银行、甲骨文、李宁等知名品牌的高管、以及来自法律、咨询行业专家,与中国企业管理人共同探讨全球化环境下的企业生存之道。

湛家扬博士用刚刚结束的“双十一”为大家展现了一副全球化的商业画面,这场购物狂欢为中国企业带来机遇的同时,也让许多中国的传统企业倍感忧虑甚至恐慌。为此,他认为大家在恐慌之前应该先思考几个问题,即是否在商学院所学的战略都是错的?跨国企业及互联网企业已经占尽上风?传统企业已难以翻身,注定要走下坡路?

答案当然是否定的。湛家扬博士认为,谁能有效融合各方优点,制定合适的全球化战略及“互联网+”战略,谁就能掌握环球商机并取得最终胜利。他以苹果公司等多个世界级领导品牌的成功经验,犀利指出当下中国企业最欠缺的不是运营能力而是创新能力。同时他指出,企业想要在互联网时代获得发展,除了需要大幅度提升创新能力外,还需要加强全球化供应能力和改变商业模式,以此来提高利润率和品牌竞争力,从而真正改写被时代颠覆的命运。面对全球化及市场化的压力,中国企业必须要转型。第一步是以客户为导向然后核心竞争力的转变的一个转型。做好了这一块还不够,因为我们有很多国际化的对手在我们的旁边和我们拼。我们不是一个企业和另一个企业的竞争,而是一个供应链和另一个供应链的竞争。但是我们做好了第一二代转型都不够,我们还要重视及制定数字化的战略,重点是企业要了解这些新的科技能给予他们客户的价值有多高,才可以在“互联网+”市场里分一杯羹。最后,湛博士提出了未来在数字化转型中我们要做好准备的六个重点。不管你是传统企业还是互联网企业,就看谁最终可以把这六点做好就是最终赢家。包括从消费者的角度出发的C2B思维,颠覆性的创新,从规模(SCALE)到范围(SCOPE),从供应链到生态圈的概念,把社交煤体变成企业的资产及把大数据变成企业的核心竞爭力等。

“2015年度全球化高管系列沙龙”是由香港大学SPACE中国商业学院全球运营与管理(GOM)课程主办的旨在通过透析两岸的企业在国际舞台上运作积累的案例,与中国企业管理者分享全球化运营知识和管理经验,助力中国企业管理者迈向世界的一个系列沙龙活动。杭州站活动的成功举办为本次“2015年度全球化高管系列沙龙”做了完美开篇。在接下来各座城市的沙龙活动里,还将有来自传统行业、银行业、咨询行业的资深人士与中国企业代表一起,共话全球化大环境下的可持续生存之道。

On December 9th, 2015, HKU Space held the Open Day in Shanghai. Dr. Toa Charm shared his points of view of “how different enterprises is innovative in the application of Big Data”, analysed a series of new business model as well as the impacted that it would bring to today’s and future’s business model.

大数据——推动人类社会发展的“新石油”

《孙子兵法》说:“多算胜,少算不胜。”今天,决定能否“多算”的重要因素在于,掌握数据的多少以及对数据处理能力的高低。有了大数据对象、大数据处理与应用的技术,再与各类实际应用需求相结合,大数据将给经济社会发展带来巨大影响。大数据(bigdata),或称巨量资料,指的是所涉及的资料量规模巨大到无法透过目前主流软件工具,在合理时间内达到撷取、管理、处理、并整理成为帮助企业经营决策更积极目的的资讯。

湛博士讲到,做生意需要用到机会成本,即“为做一件事从而放弃一件事”,这个过程需要通过大数据来分析选择,从而使大数据对我们的生活、工作、情感都产生着深远的影响。大数据在企业发展中最突出的功能就是把我们有限的资源通过最有效的当时用起来,从而达到最大限度的回报。随着“大数据时代已经到来”,数据正成为与物质资产和人力资本相提并论的重要生产要素,大数据的使用将成为未来提高竞争力的关键要素。美国和其他一些国家也都把大数据提升到国家战略层面,认为未来国家层面的竞争力将部分体现为一国拥有数据的规模及运用数据的能力。

如何在创新中使用大数据

要在大数据时代取得成功,不但需要对大数据技术驾轻就熟,更重要的是需要拥有创新能力,这个亦是中国企业与外国企业将比,差距较大的一环。如何运用内部及外部的数据来找出新商机、改革现有商业模式来提高利润、提升客户满意度及保留率等都极需要创新能力。

对于阿里巴巴而言,没有大数据就没有今天的阿里巴巴,所有大公司第一个重要业务就是数字化战略,之所以传统企业对新型企业心存畏惧,可就是因为新型企业虽然目前市值还不及传统企业,但依托大数据基础上的创新能力超过了传统企业,在这方面,很多传统企业都敌不过新兴的科技大鳄。传统企业为了推动企业转型,必须实施国际化战略,以商业模式创新推动企业焕发新的竞争力,而企业够不够创新,主要看有没有魅力引进优秀人才,来实施科技化战略,使用大数据去整合现在和未来的移动科技、互联网+、3D打印等技术伴随企业实现最大化的回报,达到企业的梦想和愿景,完成企业的使命。

大数据发展的最高境界——提升客户体验,实现跨界发展

良好的营商环境是企业发展转型的关键,随着这个信息爆炸,波澜壮阔的大数据时代的到来,我们正享受着科技和数据带来的前所未有的体验。在大数据所引发的商业转型新思维中,以客户为中心的、业务转型的潮流,传递出了企业生产营销重心前移的关键信号。因此,引领企业对用户的个性化需求做出快速响应,创造个性化的服务与价值,全方位提升客户体验,成为大数据企业转型的重中之重。

以阿里巴巴、小米的成功为例,当今企业领导人已经认识到,科技对商业社会具有前所未有的巨大影响。以大数据分析与洞察、云计算、移动与物联网、社交商务、认知运算等为代表的新一轮技术浪潮对各行各业的革命性影响已经显而易见,成为企业深化发展现代化的必要技术途径。然而,大数据让我们忧喜参半,在这个时代当中,企业要完成自己“再现代化”的使命,在海量数据中洞察每一个客户,并精准预测他们的下一个行动或需求,从根本改变运营模式和管理体系,重塑用户体验,再通过业务前线化来推动实现“以客户为中心”的企业跨越式发展。

In 2004, Entrepreneurship Week UK was launched through the initiative of former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Inspired by the event, the United States held Entrepreneurship Week USA for the first time in 2007. Global Entrepreneurship Week is the combination and extension of these two events. Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation for Graduates sponsored Entrepreneurship Week China in 2007.

The weeklong event links millions of young people around the world through local, national and global activities to help unleash their potential for entrepreneurship and innovation. HKU Space ICB invites Dr. Charm to share his valuable experience on the topic  “Big Data: the New Normal of Enterprise Competition” in China Business Big Data Forum in Shenzhen on October 23, 2015.

Over the past decade, the Internet has brought lots of successful business models all over the world, creating a series of outstanding companies and cultivate a large number of young business leaders and rich. Google and Tencent are the outstanding representatives in the Internet era. While the Internet continues developing rapidly, there is another more subversive waves increasingly approaching us – big data.

McKinsey believes that, big data occupies a pivotal position among twelve disruptive technologies. Just like the Internet, all industries are challenged by big data, while the market rules continues being destroyed. Innovative enterprises have already mastered the road to success. They are not only able to beat their competitors in the same industries, but also challenge other industry leaders.

To achieve success in the age of big data, apart from being proficient in big data, it is more important to be innovative. This is also the weakest part for Chinese enterprises while compared with foreign enterprises. Innovation is highly needed for finding out new business opportunities from internal and external data, increasing profits by reforming the existing business model, improving customer satisfaction and promoting royalty.

During the speech, Dr. Charm (Toa Sir) will share the innovations in using big data for some oversea enterprises in different industries. He will also analyze the new business models developed by a series of global big data start-ups and how they impact our current and future today and in the future.

In the Internet age, the Internet businesses are crossing the border,  challenging and overturning the traditional enterprises like a great scourge. Ma Huateng even made four motions in the NPC, one of which is the “Internet+ecology” strategy. On 2015 August 9th, Peking University HSBC Business School invited Dr. Toa Charm to attend a workshop in Shenzhen. Dr. Charm would share his view on how Chinese and foreign enterprises could face the challenge of the Internet business and how they could create their own “Internet+” environment. 

在互联网时代,很多传统企业都感到忧虑甚至恐慌。互联网企业像洪水猛兽般跨界挑战及颠覆这些传统企业,多年行之有效的策略、商业模式及核心竞争力全都不适用。是否互联网企业占尽上风?是否传统企业巳难以翻身,必定走下跛及面向死亡?看看互联网领军马云及马化腾如何看这题本。马云说,若互联网企业不能好好融合鼠标与水泥,互联网企业会很麻烦。马化腾更在全国人大提出了四项议案,其中一项就是〝互联网+生态〞战略。今年三月份,第十二届全国人民代表大会第三次会议在人民大会堂举行,李克强总理在报告中,首次提出制定〝互联网+〞行动计划。李克强在政府工作报告中提出,制定〝互联网+〞行动计划,推动移动互联网、云计算、大数据、物联网等与现代制造业结合,促进电子商务、工业互联网和互联网金融健康发展,引导互联网企业拓展国际市场。事实上,传统企业在〝互联网+〞的战略是有其优势,例如线下的资源整全。〝互联网+〞概念的提出,让中国互联网行业以及传统行业的从业者都有了压力。谁能最终获取胜利就看谁能有效融合各方优点,制定合适的〝互联网+〞战略。湛博士会与本论坛的参与者分享中外传统企业如何面对互联网企业的挑战及如何创建她们的〝互联网+〞新天地。
