“Think and Act BOLDER Culture: Co-creating Values for Our Customers” is the main theme for the 2nd Mastermind Forum of Sunlife Hong Kong. This series of forums aim to empower Sunlife’s teammates and their ecosystem to innovate more effectively for customer value creation. Over 350 Sunlife colleagues and their ecosystem partners have participated in the forum today through f2f and online channels. More forums on different themes are on the road ahead. Grateful to spend my weekend with elite tech entrepreneurs and business leaders to learn about emerging technologies and business innovation. It is one of my classes in #CUHK Mini MBA Innovative Leadership program. It aims to #upskilling busy executives and #entrepreneurs on the latest #leadership mindset and skills in the #DigitalEconomy through a series of short modules in a few months.
I particularly like the mix of my class participants. We had quite a few startups’ founders and leaders like #Dayta, tech giants like #AWS, financial services like #HangSengBank, public sector like #HKHousingSociety and major ecosystem enabler like #HKSTP. My class in fact is a mini tech and innovation #ecosystem. One of the most valuable parts of this class was the team discussion and case studies where we could focus on the key aspects that our participants were most concerned and cared about in seizing the opportunities and managing the potential risks in the emerging digital economy.

We had leaders and executives from various industries such as #FinancialServices, #Retail, #Energy, #Pharmaceutical, #Technologies, etc. to join the class yesterday. It indicated that leaders from these industries are keen on learning more about the soft side of digital transformation.
Appreciate Teddy Liu to co-teach this class with me. In fact, Teddy is the master mind of this course. He is an expert on the people side of digital transformation. Teddy shared his experience and wisdom on this subject matter. In my part, I explored a few digital transformation real-life cases with our students.
It was our honour to have Stephen Leung, Country Manager of #Pfizer Hong Kong and Indonesia, to share his wisdom on leadership, people and change management. It was very valuable and insightful. I was also impressed by his way to share his thoughts. He made good use of interesting stories and fantastic analogies.

Chow Tai Fook has a great #culture of #innovation in the #NewRetail industry such as award winning #TMark, #SmartTray, etc. but we all agreed that a lot more can be learned from the #techgiants, #unicorns #startups and other industry #innovators. We explored several potential #businessmodels that could bring in asset-light businesses driven by #platform and #bigdata to the group. We also talked about the best practices of corporate #intrapreneurship such as #LeanStartup, #OpenInnovation, etc.
Appreciate that the participants actively engaged & shared their views. We did have a fruitful discussion. I learned a lot from all of them as well.
