Here you go! Our 3rd #InnoPreneur Forum co-organized by #HKPC & #HKIM is coming live on Jul 30. The last two forums were on #FoodTech & the upcoming one is on #MarTech. The series of forums aims to empower #SMEs to leverage #Technologies & #Innovation to seize the opportunities in the digital economy & boost up their competitiveness, productivity & efficiency.

The MarTech forum will be a #f2f event (more interaction👍🙂). We have invited elite MarTech leaders to be our speakers & panelists. Edwin Wong #CloudbreakerAllen Wong #DeloitteJohn Lo #iClickDaryl Choy. Grateful to be the panel moderator to learn from them.

To support our SMEs to learn more about digital transformation, I will give a complimentary copy of my book #數碼力大提升 for the first 200 enrollments of this forum.

Hong Kong Productivity Council held its first “Future of Work & Tech Experience Day” yesterday. Excellent panel discussion on the future of work & talents moderated by Eliza Ng #HKPC. Panelists included Jeff Wong #LinkedInLancy Chui #ManpowerAda Ng #MicrosoftFlorence Chow #HKT and Karen F. HKPC. https://lnkd.in/gN8ntdk

The event also announced the results of “The Future of Work & Skills Survey” jointly conducted by HKPC & #QuokkaHR this year.

One key finding from the report is that the top five digital skills are #BigData#CloudComputing#ArtificialIntelligence#DigitalMarketing & #eCommerce. That is in line with what we have seen in the market.

Marius ChowDAVID Chung Tai-Wai and I were on the other panel to talk about a series of new training programmes to #reskill and #upskill Hong Kong talents on these required future skills in the digital age. These training programs are all supported and subsidized by government funding.

One of the new programmes that I designed together with HKPC is to empower Hong Kong #SMEs & #Startups to seize the emerging opportunities in #ASEAN markets such as #Vietnam#Indonesia#Thailand#Malaysia#Singapore, etc. Stay tuned.

The 2nd episode of our #FoodTech Series was done today in #HKPC. It is a part of our #Innopreneur Forum Series. It aims to bring leaders from Hong Kong to share their experiences to use #Innovation & #Technology to empower their business & solve problems. #SMEs can learn from them to accelerate their #DigitalTransformation.

Today, we had 4 leaders on my panel to share their experiences. Really appreciate their contribution.
Ryan Lai #Foodpanda
Jason C. #和田便當 Wada Bento
Calvin Tse #金記控股
Polly L. #Xero

Here are my key takeaways:
1. Pick the right staff with a passion for transformation to lead innovation projects.

2. Benchmark units with innovation & those who are behind, reward those who have tried.

3. Collaboration with #ecosystem is in fact a key competitive advantage especially sharing & integrating data to co-create values for customers.

4. Make use of algorithms and big data to drive customer experience and engagement

5. Patience is vital as digital transformation takes longer than we planned but we have to start now or it is too late.

Please refer to https://lnkd.in/gHMn3HV on the 1st episode of our Food Tech forum. Our 3rd forum will be on #MarketingTech in July. Stay tuned. Thanks HKPC Karen F. Marius Chow Kylie Lau & others to make this happen.

#SMEs are keen on picking up technologies but don’t have confidence on it. I had a chance to share my experience with the SMEs in a forum on #SME #Digitalization. It was an interactive discussion and the SMEs asked quite a lot of sensible questions. Fortunately, we could do it in a hybrid mode with #f2f and #online participants.

One of the questions from the particpants was which technology they should start with. My answer was that starting with a customer pain point and then look for new ways to solve it. If #technology helps, then use it. #Empathy on customers is the key for any successful business for many decades and it has no difference in today’s #DigitalEconomy.

Thanks for Hong Kong Commerce and Industry Associations #HKCNIA and #IOTHK to invite me to share my experience. I have talked about some of the key insights from my book #數碼力大提升 and gave a few of the books to the participants. #DBS #PAOB #HKPC also shared their experiences how to help SMEs on #DigitalTransformation and #Cybersecurity.

Heartfelt thanks to #全港各區工商聯 #香港物聯網 Wilson Chong and Sam Wu for organizing such a great forum.

4 local brands’ owners in the food industry got together to discuss how they built their #brand & made use of #technology #FoodTech. It is a part of the #HKPC #Innopreneur program https://lnkd.in/g3TPZtg

My key takeaways:

1. The older generation may say, if you have 10M HKD, you should retire. Jeff #Topsoya #壹品豆品 thought differently. He spent that amount on tech & his biz got up 20 times since then.

2. Changes come from the market pain point. From B2B to B2C, Arist #CentralKitchenOne #厨房壹號 helped young families to get packed food & cook nice home-feel meal under the pandemic. He needs to ramp up processes & automation helps.

3. Building a brand is not just marketing. It is #quality, persistence, focus & #partnershipRaymond Mak #Farmacy started with 5 great ideas & finally focused on one. It was a tough but wise decision.

4. “Start small” is key for #SME #DigitalizationPius Chan #TaiPoChunHing #大埔振興 started buying a simple software & let colleagues to try & give feedback. It helps get engagement & buy-in for more adoption.

5. All guests agreed #food is a tough industry. You & your family have to love the food to make it.

As the panel moderator, I heartfelt thank to all panelists & Mohamed Butt Karen F. Elly Yip Marius Chow HKPC.

#SME #Digitalisation is not a yes or no question anymore. It is a question of how. Several months ago, I had a discussion with Karen F. & Marius Chow from 香港生產力促進局 #HKPCAcademy on this after I have published my book #數碼力大提升.

How can we bring the wisdom of SME leaders, innovative #entrepreneurs from #startups & #professionals together, and generate sustainable synergy among these experts? How other SMEs, which have just started or not yet begun their digitalisation journey, could learn from this #community of experts? That was the start of this #InnoPreneur #platform.

#HKPC has done a great job to put these all together. You will see experience sharing forums on major industries, #startups solutions showcase for these industries, subject matter experts to interact with audiences in live #KOL style, #eClincs where SMEs can meet experts for #consultation, startup showcase & certainly #training#workshops & site visits.

Please join our 1st #InnoPreneur Forum on #FoodTech #FoodIndustry on Mar 26. HKPC will further share our year-long InnoPreneur Series. All SMEs, startups & #ecosystem stakeholders are welcome to join. Thanks so much for #HKPC teams to make this happen. See you.

I have experienced a #LearningOrganization in Hong Kong today. #HKPC 香港生產力促進局 runs an internal forum every month to gather all colleagues together to learn relevant topics from external and internal experts. I love the tag #growth in the amazing new work space in HKPC. Great #culture!

Today, it was my honour to be invited by HKPC to share my view on #FutureSkills. Over 300 colleagues participated. Thanks Mohamed Butt Karen F. Marius Chow for their arrangement and their #talents #leadership at HKPC.

Top three future skills in my view are:
1. #DigitalLiteracy
2. #Intrapreneurship
3. #Ecosystem #Collaboration

These skills are the secret sauce of today’s digital leaders including #TechGiants#Unicorns and even #incumbents who have transformed successfully. More importantly, they have democratized these skills to every single colleague, tech and non-tech, in their companies.

I have talked about these skills and how they helped individuals and leaders in their #DigitalTransformation in my book #數碼力大提升。Read on..

#ASEAN is the #NextBigThing for startups from #HongKong#GreaterBayArea #GBA as well as #mainland #startups. ASEAN has close to 650 million people with growing number of middle class and millennials.

On one hand, the local startup ecosystems in ASEAN countries are heating up with rapidly-rising middle class, great government initiatives for tech startups, #VC and #CVC investors’ appetite on tech, certainly innovative #entrepreneurs and more. #GoJek and #Tokopedia from #Indonesia#Lazada and #Razor from #Singapore#Grab from #Malaysia #Singapore#VNG from #Vietnam, just name a few. On the other hand, it has huge opportunities for startups from HK, GBA and mainland startups.

Join me to explore with entrepreneurs who have been working on their ventures in 5 major ASEAN countries including #Singapore #Malaysia #Indonesia #Thailand #Vietnam. Thanks for #HKPC Hong Kong Productivity Council to organize the forum.

Many of the offline classes & forums have been canceled or postponed due to the Cornavirus outbreak. Fortunately, technology can keep learning as usual. A group of big data experts has made use of technology to share their experience online on the topic of BigDataLiteracy in the DigitalEconomy.

HKPC together with OpenCertHub organized an online forum on the topic “The Most Wanted Data Technology Talent”. In this decade, AI & Big Data skill will be a necessity for everyone, not just IT & data scientists. We need IQ, EQ & now DQ in order to compete and survive. DQ stands for DataQuotient or DataLiteracy. Every business leader and executive needs to boost their DQ in order to be able to create data-driven business models and monetize their data. It is a common language like English that we use it for our business worldwide. Please refer to my previous article for more. https://lnkd.in/fwqbUff

Reskilling everyone of us to be a CitizenDataScientist has become an urgency in this decade no matter what industry & what position we are in now. Hundreds of audiences from a diverse background has joined the online forum. Glad that they have started aware of this urgency.

Thanks Patrick Tsoi , Daniel Yuen, Andy Kwok, HKPC Edmond Lai, Karen Fung, Desmond Chan, & the audiences joined the forum.
